Rappahannock Food Pantry

Logo design, visual identity, brand collateral

  • The Rappahannock Food Pantry stands on the brink of a new era. In the small community of Rappahannock, VA, a visionary plan aims to transform an underutilized riverside space. This project not only preserves the natural environment but also introduces affordable housing, community spaces, and a welcoming food pantry.

However, the stigma associated with receiving food assistance has been a significant challenge. To combat this, the pantry sought a bright, modern identity that would remove shame and make it appealing to visit, donate, and volunteer.

The revamped Rappahannock Food Pantry brand showcases a fresh look centered on community and togetherness, with a playful touch. Its simple, approachable logo features a serif font that balances softness and formality. A leaf motif adorning the "k" adds a natural element, emphasizing nourishment and growth.

At the heart of the brand are charming hand-drawn illustrations of fresh produce and food items. The familiar color palette, featuring warm and bright tones, has been retained to ensure recognition.

This vibrant new identity not only reinforces the pantry's mission but also invites active community participation. It transforms the act of giving and receiving food assistance into a positive, unifying experience for all.
